Remember Duplos? Turns out they still reign supreme in the under 4 set. Legos are where the real fun is out but also they are a real choking hazard. Two year olds love letting their imaginations run wild building with duplos. Duplos play encourages developing fine motor skills and creative play.

When my husband was a toddler, his parents had to put a baby gate up outside of his bedroom because he would wake up at 3am and start vacuuming. I am not kidding. Thirty something years later and my husband is the primary vacuum-er in our home. Kids love to explore the things they see the adults in their life doing and this set of pint sized cleaning supplies is perfect for little helpers.

At two, kids have the interest in coloring but not quite the life skills where parents feel thrilled to hand them a traditional crayon. The palm grip design of these makes it easier for small hands to grasp and they are non-toxic and contain no heavy metals in the case the two year old decides to find out what crayons taste like.

Imagination is maybe the key word when it comes to two year olds. This toy airplane came highly recommended from a friend who has boys who are now 3 and 5 as a favorite toy of theirs when they were two (and even still). This airplane is by Green toys and is dishwasher safe, has no small parts that could be a choking hazard and is the perfect size for two year olds.

This toddler sized tea set is also from Green Toys and is another great item for diving into imaginative play. Playing is a great tool for learning and the two-year-old in your life can practice pouring, stopping pours and drinking from a cup. This set has over 1000 5 star reviews on Amazon!

What is it about toddlers and trash trucks? This recycling truck (also from Green Toys) is made from recycled plastic and is easy to clean in case of an inevitable spill or germs.

Currently, my 19 month old refers to every animal as a dog. If she sees a horse, she will yell doggo! If she sees a cat, she will yell dog. Needless to say, this farm animal flash card game will definitely be in her future. This is a great game that parents can play with their kids while learning the names of common animals.

My friends with kids just a little bit older than ours swear by Strider Bikes. They look and feel like a “big” bike and help toddlers develop balance. The seat adjusts so it can grow with your child and help them develop confidence before graduating to a pedal bike.

You can't go wrong with a classic and it seems as though the toys the reined supreme in 1993 are still a big hit in 2023. Two is the perfect time to introduce a wooden train set. This wooden train set will delight your child as they create their own tracks and fit together the pieces like a puzzle.

I may as well just pledge my love and devotion to green toys as I add yet another Green Toys Item to my list. This set of sand toys is durable and won’t fall apart after one trip to the beach. Once home you can easily rinse out and even throw in the dishwasher for an easy clean up!
