Emily’s Everyday Easy Makeup
I have spent the better part of the past 15 years pitching beauty brands. I have sat with beauty brand founders and magazine editors sharing what makes this product stand apart. The beauty industry is incredibly saturated and it’s hard to gain a piece of the pie. While I don’t claim to be any sort of beauty expert and I am definitely not a makeup artist, I do care about finding products that work for me and my routine. As a mom and entrepreneur, it has become a priority for my makeup to not be another thing that takes a lot of time in my day. I don’t wear makeup everyday but what I would call my “everyday makeup” routine takes less than 5 minutes.
Best Skin Days is a staple in my makeup bag. Full disclaimer, they were once a client and this is one of those products that I convinced every beauty editor was a MUST have. Truthfully, it wasn’t difficult because I believed it. Several years later and Best Skin Days in one of the rare former clients that I will happily pay buy for myself. This 5-in-1 product is a beast so far as what is actually does for your skin. This one little product that takes approximately 45 seconds to put on is a blue light blocker, skin serum, SPF 30, moisturizer and skin tint. I don’t like my skin to look like I am wearing a ton of makeup and this doesn’t do that, the mousse blends perfectly into my skin to give just enough coverage to even me out and reduce redness. Again, I will buy this product over and over again. One tub lasts forever.
An acquaintance once asked me if I had a lot of ear infections as a kid as they are apparently indicative of dark under-eye circles. I didn’t, but it did make me pay a little more attention to my dark circles. Total Eye by Color Science is another powerhouse product. It immediately brightens the under-eye area and has an SPF35 and helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles (geriatric millennial over here).
I was no longer working with Iris&Romeo by the time they released their Ceramide Multi-Balm but I had heard a ton about it and quickly added it to cart upon its release. It can be used on both your cheeks or lips and it easy to apply with one quick swipe. Powered by serum-grade ceramides (the building blocks of bouncy skin - this product offers the perfect buildable color and has a really smooth consistency.
If you have been following us on instagram, then you have likely seen that I am newly obsessed by these lip tints that are under $10 on Amazon. They are matte but don’t leave my lips feeling dry. As you get older, you lose pigment in your lips and this strawberry nude color is perfect for just bringing some color to your face. They come in a bunch of different shades and I am excited to try a brighter shade for more of a special occasion look.
The single most used thing in my cosmetic bag is my mascara, it’s the thing I will reach for if I am going to put just one thing on. I have tried so many mascaras but none that compare to the Thrive Causemetics Mascara. This mascara adds both volume and length to my lashes without feeling like too much. It is sweat proof and water proof and literally will not run. Unlike most traditional water proof mascaras, this one is tubular to it literally just slides right off your lashes when wet. I feel like you have to use it to experience what I mean but the unique formula and meant healthier long lashes.
